Shereen Fortuin is a community activist with over five years’ experience advocating for rights and service delivery in her area. She is the Coordinator of VVVT Namakwaland, a social movement that brings together activists and community members from across Namakwaland in the Northern Cape. Together, they expose how communities are affected by the destructive exploitation of natural resources by top-down development plans that have no concern for the rights and needs of the communities. Shereen is deeply passionate about working together for just, equitable development and rights for all.
