\u00c0 l'occasion de la Journ\u00e9e internationale des for\u00eats (21 mars), le WoMin est fier de lancer le livre photo Dans l'\u00e9treinte de la terre<\/em> | Dans l\u2019\u00e9treinte de la Terre<\/em><\/strong>. Dans cette \u00e9dition inaugurale, elle c\u00e9l\u00e8bre les communaut\u00e9s foresti\u00e8res de la for\u00eat tropicale du Congo, qui couvre 300 millions d'hectares dans six pays diff\u00e9rents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forest is home to many forms of life, including endangered species, and it\u2019s essential to stabilise global temperatures and slow the effects of climate change but it\u2019s threatened by mining, logging and other forms of extractivism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au c\u0153ur de la plus grande for\u00eat tropicale d'Afrique, les femmes Baka, gardiennes de la for\u00eat, m\u00e8nent la r\u00e9sistance contre la destruction de la nature caus\u00e9e par le mod\u00e8le de d\u00e9veloppement extractif, en soutenant des formes communautaires de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 et de production, en pr\u00e9servant les connaissances interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnelles et les soins communautaires profonds. En d\u00e9fendant leurs droits et l'environnement, elles pr\u00e9sentent \u00e9galement une alternative \u00e0 l'extractivisme, fond\u00e9e sur la gestion durable des ressources naturelles et la protection des biens communs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WoMin and Green Development Advocates (GDA) produced a photobook documenting the daily lives of Baka communities in the Djoum region of Cameroon, travelling to Assoumdele, Akom,\u202f Zoulabot\u202f and\u202f Odoumou villages. Designed by Cameroonian artist Ethel Tawe, these powerful images showcase the strength and resilience of Baka women, who work tirelessly to protect the forest. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This photobook is part of WoMin\u2019s commitment to advancing African ecofeminist development alternatives rooted in the experiences and the knowledge of African women, who stand at the forefront of a movement towards a just future for all forms of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
