Tell the South African Government to take action NOW on #CaboDelgado
Since 2017, the armed conflict in northern Mozambique, which includes the gas-rich Cabo Delgado province, has forcibly displaced over 700,000 people, and left tens of thousands dead or injured. DID YOU KNOW that South African military intervention will cost taxpayers almost R1billion for the deployment of nearly 1,500 national defense force members to help Mozambique fight terrorism in this area.
No to the Grand Inga project
WoMin and our regional ally, International Rivers, are campaigning in South Africa to Stop the Grand Inga Dam Project by applying pressure on Parliament and different arms of government to withdraw budgetary commitments and political support for the electricity purchase. This work complements and supports campaigning inside of the DRC by groups, in particular women’s organisations and movements we ally to and work closely with, from which we take political direction.

Stop Base Toliara campaign
In Madagascar, the Australian-owned Base Toliara opens in a new windowmining project gravely jeopardizes the way of life of the indigenous Mikea community who rely on forests and other natural resources for survival. WoMin works to support local allies and community activists in their fight to stop the mining project.
